the day native americans got screwed

what if thanksgiving as we know it, never happened? is it that preposterous to think that maybe history has been re-written to reflect today as a day when pilgrims were thankful for squanto's aid? maybe today marks a tragedy, a deceit, a betrayal so great, the event HAD to be re-written in order to hide the truth.

and why not? we see history being re-written today: the u.s. isn't "occupying" iraq so much as providing assistance to its government and our troops would leave immediately if the iraqis wanted it so; the u.s. didn't bomb iraq for wmd, we did it out of our own good hearts to free the poor iraqis from hussein's evil rule (and replaced it with our own evil rule); bush-boy-wonder didn't steal the 2000 & 2004 elections -- he won them legitimately. this administration has got real cahones in trying to re-write history that is still yet fresh in our minds!

we can't know what happened to squanto or the native-americans who provided aid to starving pilgrims. but we can remember what happened yesterday, and last year, and the year before that. we can't allow ourselves to forget and allow this administration to re-write the wrongs they've committed.

today, i am thankful that i have love and hope and dreams. i am thankful for all the people who love me without condition. and despite the current climate of crime and wrongdoings, i am thankful there is still kindness and altruism in the world. for the abused, the tortured, and for squanto, i am thankful that i still remember a time when being an american meant living free from political tyranny and oppression, and i am hopeful we will regain those values, which is the core of our establishment.

anyhoo . . . happy gluttony day and god bless everyone!!

eureka!

at last!!! a place to call our home!! http://www.westsiderentals.com/listingdetail.cfm?id=372078 not as fancy as the palm tree-lined mansion, but it's ours!! shawn's resting his peepers for the long drive to ohio. i'm baking pumpkin pies and scalloped taters w/ bacon for tomorrow.

this month BLEW by. i'm still writing 11/16 on all my documents.

palm springs campout

the apt rented to someone else! curse be damned! now we're scrambling & hustling and shawn's losing sleep from worry. worse case scenario, we'll camp out in palm springs until we find something. living on the edge. some people might call it "homeless". i call it "one with nature".

boy, am i deluded.

home sweet home

http://www.westsiderentals.com/listingdetail.cfm?id=352541 we have our hopes set on this apartment. looka the palm trees!! they're enormous! gawl, i just spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how to hypertext that link and the directions are more complicated than the tax code.

comments

ok, so i've modified it so you guys can post comments without registering. sorry! you can post comments in 3 ways: (1) as a registered user (2) as "other" or (3) as "anonymous".

we didn't do much of anything today. ate the most expensive tacos at taco del mar: $3.99 for two tacos! and talked about how cheap tacos are going to be a just a few weeks. then we went to walmart and got 1 lb. of gummybears for shawn and throughout the store, shawn stared back at 4 guys who were staring at me. what are they looking at??! it's as though they've never seen an asian before or were brought up ass backwards.

that will be no more! in just a few weeks, i will no longer be the freak of columbus. i will blend in with and amongst the crowd of people. in fact, just yesterday, i was talking to a landlady & spelled out both our names. she commented on how she was pretty familiar with my name (shock!) but had never seen shawn's before. that's a first! usually, they say we both have weird last names.

just a snapshot of these burgars we had the other day. mine was the one with the avocados. shawn's was the one with bbq sauce and bacon. his looks like the hardy (of laurel and hardy). after eating them up with pickles and crispy roasted potatoes, we fell back and crashed for hours, wiped out from all the work. hah! we're such slobs!!

How-D

Hey everybody this is Shawn, and by everybody I mean the one guy who accidentally stumbled upon this blog not even knowing what a blog is. I was hesitant to write anything in here for two reasons the first being: If anybody cared what we are doing they would already know because we have cell phones and email. Vikki seems to think that with this blog, everybody will know what we are up to all at the same time without having to tell everybody individually on the phone and etc...I disagree. Everytime I call somebody and leave a message they call me back and I ask, "Did you get my message"? They then reply,"No, I just saw that you called and I called you back". Now, if I can't even rely on people to push the tiny icon on their cell phones that has a picture of a mail box on it that they set up to listen to their voicemail, then what makes me think that people will log onto the internet, type up the web address, set up an account to view blogs, and then sift through somebody else's boring day in lovely hard to read print. To me, that makes about as much sense as Ted Haggard and Mark Foley hating gays.

The second reason for not liking blogs is because it seems to be somewhat of a catch word in the same sense that I hate the terms,"Flip Flopping", "Cut and Run", and let's not forget an oldie but goodie,"Stay the Course" (depending on who you talk to,"Stay the Course" may have never even been said). As much as I am tired of hearing those words being thrown around, I can live with them. But if I hear another person say,"Getting Jiggy with It", I am going to punch them in their throat and I don't care what the consequences are just as long as I don't get into trouble, and nobody gets hurt.

If it seems like I am negative please forgive me. I just realized that I am living in Columbus Nebraska for over a year and I am "Security" guard at a meat processing plant. I am going to go suck my thumb and sit in the fetal position while telling myself that everything happens for a reason.

love,

Shawn G

gawl

well, i think we're going to omaha today to run errands. shawn's doing a guest set too. then to frank's pizzeria -- omg, the best pizza and cannolis in the midwest. hands down.
with luck, shawn will finally commit to a pair of shoes. the sneakers he's got now are worn through so the heels are exposed. but the old poop won't commit!
had a nightmare the other night about waking up and finding that my body had been used as a baby farm by scientists who had discovered a way of growing multiple embryos in the womb, then harvesting them before they got too big, and growing them to term in simulated environments. they had harvested about 100 babies from me while i was unconscious. aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!

the way we were

so here we are! this picture was taken last year when we both weighed less. . . um, i think it was daylight donuts. oh-ho-ho lovely chewy do-ho-nuts.

the dabis?

hm. now that i'm here, i don't know what to say except hi. we're mostly packed. we'll shawn is. i'm not. we've got leads to apts. haven't gotten tix to jg yet & still wondering if i deserve them. had a nightmare last night about a female ghost stabbing shawn. i think i get nightmares like stephen king.
