10 minutes of fame

shawn's doing 10 minutes for an audience of 50 at the empty stage theatre (http://effinfunny.com/liveShows.php) this saturday. i'm secretly nervous for him. i can confess this here because he almost never reads these blogs. hah! i tell him he's ready, he's been ready, he's been doing this for 6 years, for bigger crowds, for more money, for more time, saturday night's going to be a piece of cake!! i'm all puff and bravado, but i'm scared stupid for him! AAHHH! not because i don't think he's ready, but this is the first time he's done it on stage, NOT at an open mike, HERE in l.a., and it's going to be recorded for posting on effinfunny.com. WOW! i hope he doesn't choke.

aw, he won't! i'm just so scared for him!!! AAAAAAHH!

tonight, i had the night to myself and for the first time, i took the time to cleanse, tone, exfoliate, and mask. if the skin on my face could talk, it would sigh and say "about f**king time!" i feel like i've got a new face. the woman behind the lancome counter shamed me into buying skin products. you should've seen how critically she looked at my face. i wanted to hide under my jacket!

shawn placed a dozen red roses in the apt the other day. i'm looking at them right now. they're beautiful and smell like fresh cut apples. i should take a picture of them before they die.

good eatin'

yesterday: art's deli http://www.artsdeli.com/ (don't try to click on the restaurant menu, it's corrupt) -- shawn had the pastrami on homemade rye. i had the shaved brisket on french roll au jus. it was HEAVEN. the iced tea was (as shawn kept repeating after every gulp) "ahhhh! it's so refreshing!" it was the kind of gulping where you're gasping for air afterwards. sheesh! walking to our car, shawn's tshirt hugged his bubble belly. he had eaten his whole mile-high sandwich. it was SO FUNNY watching how much tighter his tshirt got.

then we went to ikea and picked up a couple of cool rugs for the apt. ikea was a madhouse! and the salty pastrami left shawn parched and thirsty, so we went home, watched "elizabeth" and made papaya, chicken wings, & sticky rice. yum!

for val's day, shawn picked me up from work, and we went to the venice whaler http://www.venicewhaler.com/ for mussels and hot wings, then watched "panic room" at home. i still think forest whittaker and dwight yoakum (the sickest, most sadistic jerk!) was so good in that.
