get smart

we went to watch "get smart" at the paseo last night and ran into that ex-model chick from "just shoot me". she was with a really tall guy and another woman. i recognized her voice first and then saw her face and was floored that it was really her. these are real people!

"get smart" was probably more of a netflixer. shawn watched it buzzing and he laughed through the whole thing.

yesterday, the fire dept was called to our building bc some chick on the 2nd floor left something on the stove which burned and caught on fire. she threw water on the it and the fire spread everywhere. we live on the 3rd floor where firefighters were checking the walls to see if the fire had traveled upwards. it was like watching deniro in backdraft work.

today, i went into the bathroom and saw an empty bag of dorito's in the trash can next to the toilet. i don't even want to think about what shawn did today.

yesterday, shawn wheeled a bar all the way home (about 8 blocks). the pictures are too funny.

attempted kidnapping?

i've been commuting on the metro rail and today shawn was going to pick me up from fillmore station. i was talking on the phone when i arrived at my stop and saw that shawn was already parked in the roundabout parking area, so i walked up to the car, opened the door, got inside, still on the phone. as i was about to close the car door, i looked over at shawn and realized that it WASNT shawn.

it was some guy, waiting for someone else, in a car that looked like my car!!! i was so startled and laughed so hard i nearly peed in my pants. i started laughing and this stranger started laughing. all the while, chin was on the other end of the phone saying, "man, you're really from nebraska aren't you - it's a good thing you're in pasadena or you could've been kidnapped!"

the pics were taken 12/31 around 11pm on colorado blvd. for miles and miles, the street looked like it had been taken over by the homeless. beds, bedding, sleeping bags, lawnchairs, firepits, all cluttered the street as far as the eye could see.
